FCO a Hit at Officers Square Outdoor Concert

A beautiful evening greeted members of the Fredericton Chamber Orchestra after threatening weather forecasts dissipated. Conductor Samuel Arnold delivered the downbeat to the jay and satisfaction of a good sized audience. Visitors smiled, children danced and music of a wide variety swept across the square, sometimes to the accompaniment of an occasional Harley!

The program included:
  • Thieving Magpie Overture - Rossini
  • Chanson du TorĂ©ador - Bizet (John Tickner, soloist)
  • 2nd movement of the Haydn Trumpet Concerto (John Tickner, soloist)
  • La Virgen de la Macarena (John Tickner, soloist)
  • Water Music by Handel/Harty
  • Hungarian Dances Nos. 1 & 3 by Brahms
  • Offenbach Overture to Orpheus in the Underworld

Something there for everyone!
